Join us in conversation about what the post-pandemic child looks like today. What does the future hold for the millions of young Australians whose formative years were so disrupted? And what help must we urgently provide to this generation of children?
We’ll hear about The Post Pandemic Child with author Professor Kim Cornish AM. Professor Cornish is a Sir John Monash Distinguished Professor, and Founding Director of the Turner Institute for brain and Mental Health.

Professor Kim Cornish ‐ Born in the UK, Professor Kim Cornish AM was appointed the Founding Director of the Turner Institute for Brain and Mental Health and is a Sir John Monash Distinguished Professor at Monash University. From 2019-2023, Professor Cornish was also concurrently Head of the School of Psychological Sciences. She has built her distinguished career as a cognitive neuroscientist devoted to understanding developmental pathways in children with vulnerable brains. Professor Cornish has most recently sought to translate her discovery findings into real-life impact for children through the development of digital technologies to help strengthen cognitive functioning. Her work has been recognised with many awards including being made a Member of the Order of Australia (2024) for significant services to psychological sciences and the community. In 2017, she was elected a Fellow of the Academy of Social Sciences Australia.
