Dan Trudeau

Dr Dan Trudeau is a Professor in the Department Geography at Macalester College in Saint Paul, Minnesota, USA. As an urban geographer, he focuses on the roles of city planning and public policy in shaping urban development. His work explores the interactions between the built environment and social inequality and focuses on efforts to create more just, equitable, and inclusive cities. Dan has written about the politics of urban and suburban development, the geographies of affordable housing, the challenges and opportunities of advancing social justice through the built environment, and the practices and politics of community-engaged inquiry. Dan works and writes in both academic and public-facing venues. He regularly participates in community-engaged research and connects this to courses he teaches at Macalester College. He is a former Director of the Urban Studies Program at Macalester College and currently serves on the State of Minnesota's Parks and Trails Legacy Advisory Committee.
