Another reason to fertilise crops

A new study reveals the role fertiliser plays in reducing the risk of crop pest infections.

A well known pest, the spider-mite, was found to have a strong preference for crop leaves with low levels of potassium.

Potassium is a key element in standard crop fertilisers, as it helps the growth of plants.
