Future of the Corporation - Next Steps
As part of the Monash University Better Governance and Policy research agenda, the Faculty of Law, and its Centre for Commercial Law and Regulatory Studies (CLARS) are proud to invite you to this landmark event.

Presented by: Professor Colin Mayer FBA, Professor of Management at the Saïd Business School, University of Oxford, and leader of the British Academy’s research programme on The Future of the Corporation.

Led by Professor Mayer, The Future of the Corporation is a major new initiative by the British Academy that is addressing the purpose of business and its role in society, with implications for corporate governance, regulation, and practice. Following publication by the British Academy of the results of the first phase of work on The Future of the Corporation, Professor Mayer will outline and discuss these results and the next phase of work for this research programme, both of which have relevance for Australian regulatory, business, and legal audiences.

This event is timely for Australian audiences, as the banking and corporate sectors grapple with the lessons from the recent Financial Services Royal Commission, the latest revision of the Corporate Governance Principles and Recommendations by the ASX Corporate Governance Council, and ongoing public debate about business leaders speaking out on social and environmental issues.
