Australian internet traffic will be five times greater by 2016

Internet traffic in Australia is rapidly growing, doubling every 475 days.

By 2016, traffic is set to increase by more than five times to reach one exabyte (one billion gigabytes) of data each month.

Researchers are now working to improve network communications and design which can cope with increasing traffic.
