Nearly a third of Australians use social media sites such as Facebook at work and aren’t concerned about being caught by their employers, according to a Monash University study.
Sixty-two per cent of those surveyed said they weren’t worried about privacy issues as a result of using social media at work, such as employers using personal data.
Just over a third of respondents said their workplace had a social media policy, but those that did generally didn’t have measures to properly enforce the policy or educate employees.
Only 14% of people using social media networking sites in the workplace used them for work-related activity, while 42% used them for personal activity.
