Australia’s unemployment services need radical shake-up

The job seeker has to be placed at the heart of unemployment services, according to a paper by Lisa Fowkes, the former chief executive of Job Futures. Her essay for the Whitlam Institute at the University of Western Sydney calls for a radical rethink of the service, sweeping away the “tweaking” of the system which has taken place over the last 20 years.
