A new analysis of the Global Terrorism Database shows that al-Qaida has been responsible for more attacks which resulted in mass casualties than any other terror group in the last twelve years. The network, headed by Osama bin Laden until his death yesterday, is thought to have been responsible for 84 terrorist attacks around the world since 1998. They killed at least 4,299 people. A further 6,300 have been wounded.
