A new study has exposed the potential of birds to survive in the face of climate change.
The study found that for small, short-lived birds like the Great Tit evolution can work fast enough to keep pace with a changing environment. But, even for such fast-evolving species, evolution on its own is not enough.
Scientists studied individual birds over several years. The birds had built-in flexibility, enabling them quickly adjust their behaviour to changes in the environment.
