Birth weight linked to mental health

Premature or low birth weight babies are more likely to suffer from anxiety and mood disorders later in life, according to researchers at the University of Birmingham.

Babies born early or underweight were more than three times as likely to develop mental health disorders, particularly during their teens.

While parents should not be alarmed, the researchers say, they should be aware.
