Bold baboons better at learning

Bold baboons are better at learning and sharing new tasks than shy baboons, new research shows.

Researchers testing the ability of wild baboons in Namibia to learn a task by watching another baboon perform it.

Lead author Dr Alecia Carter said baboons’ social networks may prevent them from learning from others. The results could shed light on how we understand the formation of culture in societies through social learning.
