Bubbles pack a punchy pop

The focused energy surge that comes from collapsing bubbles has provided scientists with a clean way to drive not only chemical reactions but also biological applications.

Controlling and harnessing these pulses of energy, which can reach temperatures of 5,000 kelvin and pressures as high as 100 megapascals, is now the focus of researchers of Bioprocessing Technology Institute and Nanyang Technological University
