Conflicting roles major cause of distress at work

Role conflict in the workplace leads to greater risk of mental health disorders and reduced productivity according to researchers at the Norwegian National Institute of Occupational Health.

Workers who received contradictory requests from different people were 53 per cent more likely to report problematic levels of distress.
