Consumers still falling for online marketing tricks

Consumers are still falling for online marketing schemes according to a new Penn State University study.

The study found that 40% of consumers who purchased an item online bought an additional item after their transaction had been processed.

Consumers were particularly vulnerable to opt-in and opt-out schemes, believing the additional item to be part of their original purchase.
