Cost is main deterrent for dental visits

Cost is the main reason people don’t go to the dentist, according to a recent study.

Other factors, such as fear, time constraints and disinterest were ranked significantly lower than cost. Nearly 68% of people who delayed their visits to the dentist did so because of cost.

Researchers are concerned by the findings, and cite the need to overcome the real and perceived barriers to good dental care.
