Researchers have shown that problems associated with attention deficit hyperactivity disorder, such as distraction, may make people more creative. They found that being easily distracted could signify an openness to new ideas and allow ADHD-affected minds to make associations that may not otherwise have been made. The study follows a 2006 project that showed people with ADHD did better in laboratory measures of creativity and performed better on tests of creative divergent thinking.
