Digital pen could improve health care

A new digital pen equipped with a tiny camera will be able to automatically transfer written patient information directly into a computer database.

The digital pen, currently being trialled at Frankston Hospital, records information such as pain levels, heart rate, temperature and length of patient stay.

The pen will allow for better data collection which will result in improved hospital efficiency and patient outcomes.
