Excessive worrying may have co-evolved with intelligence

Worrying may have evolved alongside intelligence, a study has discovered.

Researchers found high intelligence and worry both correlated with brain activity measured by the depletion of the nutrient choline in white brain matter.

This result suggests a co-evolution.

Previous studies had concluded that excessive worry existed both in people with higher intelligence and lower intelligence, and less so in people of moderate intelligence.
