Fate of the environment in our hands, not in our minds

A radical change to human behaviour is the key to avoiding environmental disaster, a study by the Australian National University has found.

The researchers argue that society now knows what needs to be done to save the environment, the challenge is to act.

Priority areas to bring about change have been identified, from reforming nation states to controlling population and consumption rates. The responsibilty to achieve this lies with civil society, which must provide opportunities for the public to take action.
