Females with melanoma have greater survival rates

Women with melanoma have a greater chance of survival than men, according to a study published in the Journal of Clinical Oncology.

Compared with women, men showed less awareness, were more resistance to screening and sought less information about skin malignancies.

Men often presented with thicker tumours which carry a greater risk of mortality, potentially as a consequence of such behaviours.
