Financially disadvantaged people more likely to buy rare products

Do you always want something not many other people have? Most people do, especially those who feel financially disadvantaged according to a study from the Stern School of Business.

Researchers gave participants the choice of two types of the same good and in most cases people picked the rarer item.

The findings suggest the poorest people are vulnerable to predatory marketing practices.
