Global retailers cautiously optimistic for the year ahead

CEOs were still optimistic about growth, despite the state of the global economy, according global survey of 219 senior retail executives by Monash University.

According to the report, executives consider the Chinese and Indian markets as offering the greatest growth prospects for retail. There is also general hopefulness about local consumer confidence.

As expected, economic instability and changes to consumer spending were seen as the biggest threats to the retail industry.
