Human brains function as network

Researchers have mapped the brain’s neural networks and for the first time linked them with specific cognitive functions, such as information processing and language. The study found that the human brain works as a highly interconnected network rather than a set of discrete regions. The results have important implications for why many people experience cognitive declines in their old age, the researchers show.
