Immune system could help treat cancer

Patients may be able to fight cancer in the future using their body’s own immune system.

Scientists have engineered a protein called TNF-Alpha which penetrates the inside of tumours and opens them, allowing for immune cells to enter.

TNF-Alpha has increased patient responses to chemotherapy.
