Research out of the US has supported a long-held assumption: listening to upbeat music can help people try to be happy.
Participants who tried to improve their mood while listening to positive music successfully did so over two weeks of sessions.
A control group, who listened to music without trying to change their mood, reported lower levels of happiness.
