L’Institut de hautes études internationales et du développement est un établissement de recherche et d’enseignement supérieur spécialisé dans l’étude des affaires mondiales, en particulier de celles qui se trouvent à l'intersection des relations internationales et des questions du développement.

A travers nos activités, nous souhaitons promouvoir la coopération internationale et apporter une contribution au développement de sociétés moins favorisées. Plus largement, nous cherchons à stimuler une réflexion novatrice sur les défis du monde contemporain, à encourager un sentiment de responsabilité globale et à favoriser le respect de la diversité.

Nous sommes une institution cosmopolite établie au cœur de Genève, ville internationale et haut lieu de la gouvernance mondiale. En tissant des relations privilégiées avec les organisations internationales, les organisations non-gouvernementales et les sociétés multinationales, nous participons aux discussions sur les défis globaux et préparons les futurs décideurs à diriger le monde de demain.

The Graduate Institute is an institution of research and higher education (Master and PhD). Selective and cosmopolitan, it is located in the heart of International Geneva and specialises in the study of the major global, international and transnational challenges facing the contemporary world. It also offers professional development programmes and expertise to international actors from the public, private and non-profit sectors.

The Graduate Institute is accredited by the Swiss Government and receives funding from the Confederation and the Canton of Geneva. It is managed by a private foundation and governed by a regulatory framework with a strong emphasis on efficiency. The Graduate Institute’s strategy is articulated around public-private partnerships supported by leading patrons and foundations to whom we should like to extend our sincere gratitude.
