Sefako Makgatho Health Sciences University

The Sefako Makgatho Health Sciences University (SMU) opened in January 2015. The University is located at Ga-Rankuwa at the then Medunsa campus of the University of Limpopo, previously known as the Medical University of Southern Africa (MEDUNSA). The late Sefako Makgato whom the university is named after, is a highly acclaimed politician, journalist, educationist and theologian who struggle for South Africa that is legitimate, non-exploitative and democratic.
