Universidad Catolica de Temuco

The Catholic University of Temuco, was founded on September 8, 1959, by the then Bishop of the Diocese Monsignor Alejandro Menchaca Lira, becoming the first institution of higher education established in the region of Araucania. His academic activities began with the so - called “University Courses”, the first half of 1960, with the advice and support of the Catholic University of Chile. Currently the University has a accreditation of 4 years (2015-2019) in the areas of undergraduate teaching, institutional management, research and connectedness. It has 55 undergraduate programs, 12 master ‘s programs, 22 graduate programs and continuing education programs in May, thereby achieving a students ’ community of more than 8,000 students by 2015.
