University of Central America

The Central American University (UCA) is the first private university to be created in Central America. It was founded in Nicaragua by the Society of Jesus on July 23, 1960, as an educational institution, non-profit, independent, public service and Christian inspiration.

The UCA is part of the Association of Universities Entrusted to the Society of Jesus in Latin America (AUSJAL), consisting of 31 universities in 14 countries in the region and integrated network of higher education institutions of the Jesuits in Europe, Asia and USA.
