It’s a metal, it’s a glass, no, it’s metallic glass

Metallic glass is stronger than steel or titanium, is just as tough, and can now be made using the same cheap processes used for producing plastic parts, according to researchers at the California Institute of Technology.

Metallic glass is a metal with the disordered atomic structure of glass and can be used for everything from cell-phone cases to aircraft parts. Previously, metallic glass has proved difficult to shape as it crystallises, or hardens, too quickly.
