Lacking sleep? Omega-3 might help

Eating higher amounts of omega-3 DHA may give you a better night’s sleep, according to new research.

Some 362 children took part in the 16-week study, and took 600mg omega-3 supplements daily.

Parents were given questionnaires on their children’s sleep habits, with one in four kids identified as suffering from poor sleep. 43 of those children were then monitored over five nights while they slept.

Researchers, led by Oxford University’s Professor Paul Montgomery, found children who took Omega-3 had almost an hour more sleep and suffered from fewer waking episodes per night than children who took placebo supplements.
