Link found between gambling and violence

There is a strong link between problem gambling and family violence, a new study has found.

Researchers found over half the people presenting at gambling counseling services in Victoria, South Australia and Tasmania reported family violence in the previous 12 months.

Of the participants who were interviewed in depth, most reported that problematic gambling generally preceded the family violence.
