Magnetar found in our galactic heart

A magnetar - a type of pulsar with a strong magnetic field - has been found at the centre of our Milky Way, allowing researchers to investigate the black hole it orbits.

The international study, which included Australian researchers, managed to established the presence of the pulsar after 20 years of searching.
