Married couples have similar DNA

Married couples share a significantly higher number of genetic similarities compared to any two random individuals.

Researchers at the University of Colorado-Boulder found it likely that people who are genetically similar have more opportunities to meet and mate.

The results could change the statistical models used to understand genetic differences between human populations, because such models often assume random mating.
