Nanoparticles in food could affect health

Nanoparticles found in food and pharmaceuticals have a negative impact on health; both short term and long term.

Short term testing of the effects of nanoparticles on live chickens showed the birds had a decreased ability to absorb iron. Long term effects in human gut cells saw their cellular structures change.

Researchers believe the results serve as a warning to the possible short-term effects of nanoparticles, such as over-absorption of damaging compounds
