New transparent memory chip has clear benefits

Scientists have developed transparent, flexible memory chips which could aid the development of futuristic see-through gadgets that wrap around your wrist.

Although individual bits of computer memory are too small to be seen, traditional silicon bits become visible if packed sufficiently densely. The transparent technology takes advantage of recently-discovered properties of silicon oxide, a common insulator.
