Novice teachers have less desire to stay in schools due to weak administrative climate

Nearly a third of teachers are willing to leave schools or switch careers in their first two years because of poor relationships with principals.

The findings highlight the harm this may pose to low-income urban schools that struggle to maintain and recruit teachers.

The authors of the study argue for more leadership training for principals to promote a healthier school climate.
