Obesity a killer in non-smoking women

Obesity is an important contributor to premature death in women who have never smoked, especially among women in low income groups. The study examined the mortality patterns of 15,000 middle-aged participants over a 28 year period. The researchers found women who had never smoked and were not obese had the lowest mortality rates, regardless of their social position.
