Ocean eddies help understanding of climate

Ocean eddies distribute heat and nutrients around the ocean and form their own habitats. CSIRO scientists hope the data they’re now collecting from deep ocean eddies will help them understand how ocean dynamics influence regional climate. The researchers have been using deep ocean divers, called ‘gliders’, to collect eddy information off south-east Australia.
