Pasha 41: Taking a look at measles in the DRC

The measles outbreak in the DRC is the largest and most fatal in the world this year. What started in one section of the country has now spread to all 26 provinces. Not vaccinating children lies at the heart of the problem. But there are a number of issues which makes vaccinating kids difficult.

In today’s episode of Pasha Matthew Ferrari, an associate professor of biology at Pennsylvania State University, discusses what happens to the body when one has measles, why it has spread so quickly and what the solutions are.
