Physical activity linked to local park quality

Community health may be improved by upgraded facilities in parks, new research has shown.

Deakin University researchers undertook a comparative study of two similar parks, one of which had recently improved its facilities. The results showed that both park attendance and the level of physical activity increased in the park which had been upgraded.

Improvements to the park included a fenced dog park and an all-abilities playground.
