Immune cells are the secret to a fertile pregnancy according to University of Adelaide researchers.
Macrophages - white blood cells within tissues - are essential in the initial stages of pregnancy to produce the hormone progesterone to assist embryo implantation.
The findings will help to uncover new methods to treat female infertility and reduce miscarriages.
