Probe picks up water cycle

A new invention called the Zim probe is being used to check how Australian trees are coping with drought and climate change.

The probe consists of two small magnets containing sensitive sensors working in a similar way to measuring blood pressure in humans.

The sensors pick up water levels in the tree leaves and how their photosynthesis cycle is affected by the dry climate.
