Ses centres d’intérêt recouvrent l’étude des processus de création d’activités innovantes, l’entrepreneuriat organisationnel et l’enseignement en entrepreneuriat. Il a publié une quinzaine d’ouvrages et des articles dans de nombreuses revues internationales comme Academy of Management Learning & Education, Entrepreneurship and Regional Development et International Journal of Entrepreneurship and Innovation. Ses travaux ont été également publiés dans des revues de langue française comme, entre autres, M@n@gement, Management International, Gérer et comprendre, Revue Internationale PME ou encore Revue Française de Gestion.

Dr. Alain Fayolle is a professor of entrepreneurship, the founder and director of the entrepreneurship research centre at EM Lyon Business School, France. His research interests cover a range of topics in the field of entrepreneurship: education and training, corporate entrepreneurship, new venture creation process, family entrepreneurship, opportunity and necessity entrepreneurship, etc. Among them, entrepreneurship education issues take a great place. On this topic, Dr. Fayolle has notably edited three volumes of the Handbook of Research in Entrepreneurship Education (2007 and 2010, Edward Elgar Publishing). He has been also (or still is) acting as an expert for different governments and international institutions (OECD, EC).
Alain published over twenty books and one hundred articles in leading international and French-speaking scientific journals. Among his editorial positions, he is notably an Associate Editor of JSBM and an Editor of two leading French-speaking journals, Revue de l’Entrepreneuriat and Entreprendre & Innover.
