DST/NRF Research Chair in Bioinformatics and Public Health Genomics, University of the Western Cape

I completed a PhD in Bioinformatics - a multi-disciplinary space that uses analytical tools to answer questions in Biology. In the context of my research laboratory, the questions are of a biomedical nature. I am currently the director of the South African National Bioinformatics Institute and the Director of the Medical Research Council Bioinformatics Unit.
My research is currently focused on analytical tools for studying infectious diseases with partners across the African continent.
