PhD candidate in Archeology, Australian National University

Alan's PhD topic investigates the links and relationships between Aboriginal population dynamics and their response to climate change over the last 40,000 - 50,000 years. Of key importance to this study is the development of databases of radiocarbon and other absolute dating data to provide a platform to investigate the changing occupation signature of Aboriginal people across Australia (although current focus is in the Arid Interior, Pilbara, Kimberleys and Top End) and compare it visually and statistically with palaeo-climatic records.
