Alexander Bentley

Professor and Chair of Comparative Cultural Studies, University of Houston

From 2001 to 2015, I worked in Britain, starting at University College London, then Durham University and then Professor and Head of Archaeology and Anthropology at Bristol University until 2015. My research has explored cultural change in different environments, from prehistoric societies to contemporary communities. Another of my research interests is the study of decision-making and the spread of behaviours, both historically and in the online age. My recent book was I’ll Have What She’s Having: Mapping Social Behaviour (MIT Press).
