Lecturer in criminology, University of Hull

I am a lecturer in criminology at the University of Hull, which I joined in July 2021. Prior to this, I worked at the Department of Sociology at the University of Essex, where I completed my PhD with a study on organised food crime and the involvements of organised crime and mafia-type groups in the food supply chain in England and Italy.

I specialised in the study of harmful and criminal activities taking place in the food sector (so-called ‘food crimes’) and in the way public and private institutions conceptualise, police and prosecute them.

My research interests stretch across green criminology and environmental crimes, organised crime and mafia studies, crimes of the powerful and corporate crime.
