Alistair Jones

Alistair has been working at De Montfort University for almost thirty years. He has written two text books on British Politics (with Phil Cocker) and two on the European Union. Currently he is writing a book on Parish Councils in England.

With regard to teaching, Alistair has taught at the Charles University in Prague as a Visiting Erasmus Lecturer on Britain's relationship with the EU. He also teaches at Liaoning National University in Shenyang, China, where the focus is on life in Britain.

At DMU, Alistair teaches on a range of subjects. This includes introductory British Politics to different academic disciplines, as well as on EU Politics at both undergraduate and postgraduate levels.

Alistair appears frequently in the media. He is a regular on BBC Radio Leicester and East Midlands Today. He also appears as a politics expert on RT UK and RT France, as well as the Russian broadcaster NTV.
