Alita Nandi

Dr. Nandi conducts empirical research primarily in the areas of ethnicity and gender, specifically investigating differences in subjective as well as economic wellbeing. Her other research activities are (i) in the formation, measurement and impact of identity (in individual life outcomes), (ii) in measurement of institutional characteristics in developing countries and exploring their effects and (iii) partnership formation and dissolution.

She is the Associate Director (Outreach) of Understanding Society, leading its user support, training and capacity building activities and has contributed to questionnaire design, particularly to the measurement of ethnic identity and identity across other dimensions.
